TRAVIS McGOWAN
INSTRUCTOR
CLUBADF • FUSEADF • ZUMBA TONING
Travis is a licensed instructor in Zumba, Zumba toning, Insanity Live, and Dance Fitness. He helps clients have fun and feel free while exercising in a no judgement zone. Travis has always enjoyed dancing and teaching others and has been instructing for 8 years. He got into the line of business in 2012 when he attended a Zumba studio with family. Travis’ favorite part about being a dance instructor is the freedom, because it allows him to show his personality through dancing. Also, to choreograph and teach clients his routines is always a lot of fun. When Travis is not working on new dance routines or Insanity workouts, he likes to workout at the gym, jog at the park, meet with family downtown, or read a good book. Travis is a dog lover, at home cook, and devoted son residing in Mauldin, South Carolina. He thinks of himself as a shy person, although he’s been known to break out of his shell when instructing a class. The things Travis loves most in life are his relationship with God, family, and dancing. A perfect day for him would include a six mile jog in the morning, teaching a class and hanging out with family. The kind of people Travis would like to meet are ones who are passionate about dance and have a positive attitude.

AMBER BARKSDALE
INSTRUCTOR
ZUMBA • FUSEADF • CLUBADF
Amber discovered her passion for dance when she joined a hip hop dance team back in high school. She also met her husband during high school while he was visiting on a church mission trip. Shortly after the wedding, they made the big move from New Mexico to South Carolina, his hometown. After moving across the country and two pregnancies later, came the weight gain! Once her kids were out of diapers she decided to take control of her health and trained for 5 and 10k races, which resulted in losing a total of 60 lbs! While training at the gym, she discovered a Zumba class, she tried it and fell in love with dance all over again! After attending several different instructors’ classes, Amber decided to get licensed in 2014. Latin is her absolute favorite rhythm, especially Cumbia and Reggaeton. Zumba has provided her with a fun way to stay consistently active. She believes in order to stay fit, every person must find what exercise they love to do.

KATIE EGAN
INSTRUCTOR
HIP HOP YOGA
Katie was born in Brooklyn, NY but has been a SC native for the past 20 years so she claims the south as her home. After 15 years of ballet, tap, and jazz, she was drawn to yoga as a way to keep mindful movement in her life even through adulthood after college. Since receiving her 200RYT in 2019, she’s been bringing a bit of light-heartedness to the otherwise intense practice of power yoga in her classes. Usually the resident hippie wherever she goes, you can count on her trying to read your birth chart, encouraging you to try her new favorite vegan recipe, or fitting in a mini meditation before she hops out of her car when she gets to class. Katie’s favorite part of writing classes is coming up with playlists so definitely expect some serious bops to go with your downward dogs. Katie loves living in Greenville with her very patient husband, Cole, who puts up with her obsession with trash reality tv and annoyingly expensive craft beer. She really, really can’t wait to have you in class!

SHANA MARX
INSTRUCTOR
VIXEN
Shana was born and raised in Memphis, TN but has been in Greenville SC for the last 4 years. She attended LSU for college, Geaux Tigers! Her love for dance started young; she was a competitive dancer for 15 years. As an adult, finding a workout that challenged her that she enjoyed enough to stick with was difficult. But after taking her first dance fitness class she knew she had found the workout for her! Through taking VXN classes, she felt inspired and empowered by the music, movements, and community. She hopes to see you at class soon to feel just as inspired and empowered. When not teaching, Shana likes to spend time with her family, friends, and buy Halloween decorations (it’s her favorite holiday).

MEGAN CRAWFORD
INSTRUCTOR
FUSEADF • CLUBADF
Megan is originally from the gorgeous mountains of East Tennessee! She grew up in a small town and loves the small town vibes, low key, slow paced living. She's been extremely active and involved in sports her entire life. She danced and played soccer when she was little and once she discovered basketball and volleyball they quickly became a major part of her life. After college, she was looking for something just as intense yet still fun, and that’s when she came across dance fitness. Immediately after taking her first class, she knew she wanted to be an instructor! Megan has been teaching for over 10 years, and has recently become a certified personal trainer and nutritionist. She loves getting to share her passion for health and wellness with others and showing people what they are capable of by pushing them to be their best self in all areas of their life. She fell in love and married her high school friend and now has two beautiful children. As a family of four, they love exploring the outdoors, playing with their fur babies and spending time at their family beach house. When she's not teaching or exercising, her main focus is being a mom!
